Director's Biography

Emily Jenkins is an award winning writer/director from Toronto, Canada. Her most recent short film TERMINALLY IN LOVE which she wrote and co-directed alongside Justin Black was selected for Telefilm’s Not Short on Talent Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2014 Emily wrote and directed THE PATH, another short film which won The National Screen Institute of Canada's Fearless Female Director Award, and 4 TARA Awards including Best Director. Her work has been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council and Toronto Arts Council. Alongside her live action filmmaking, Emily works at Guru Animation Studio and wrote and directed the animated short TRUE'S NEW YEARS COUNTDOWN which aired on Netflix in 2017. Emily recently directed 2x11min Netflix Specials for Guru's TRUE AND THE RAINBOW KINGDOM brand. The specials, called DANCE AND SING WITH TRUE, consist of 11 extended music videos based on the songs from Season One and Two.
